Palm neither confirms nor denies that it's going the way of the Windows. But said it might be a good thing to attract more corporate/enterprise customers. Basically they're keeping an open mind and the Palm OS isn't dead.

TCPMP - The Core Pocket Media Player for Palm is a free open source player that handles just about all the major formats. It plays DivX/XviD, mp3, mka, mkv, ogg, MPEG-1 video, AAC, mp4, and AC3 ... whew!
It's not a fancy player, but gets the job done. I'm getting full framerates on my TT with no help from overclocking software like LightSpeed.
Update: There's a new version that's out, .66, that no longer features AAC. And you can probably guess why. (BIG LEGAL STICK from you know who). It still works on the older .65 (unstable version) but, it's encouraged by the developer to "Please remove it". Ok at least he said it, so his end is covered :D |
